Early Aviation - Civil

These are some of my photos of civil aircraft from the early days of flight heading through the 20's and 30's towards the Second World War era, what exciting days they must have been. From the first powered flight by the Wright Brothers in 1904 to the Spitfire in 1936 was 32 years of rapid advancement. I can only imagine what it was like (and still is) piloting some of these aircraft, a combination of fear, cold and noise on one hand and exhilaration on the other.
